40 years of Sights & Sounds by Denis O' Sullivan

Live Shows / Gigs / Tour Dates

Next stop Spain.. I'm moving in a couple of months to finish my book and work on improving my show for next year and take it on tour "to Berlin and beyond" in April / May, that's the plan but who knows what will happen?
I also plan to check out the live music scene in Andalucia while I'm there and hopefully will get the opportunity to visit my friends in Morocco to play beautiful music with them once again.

But before I go I plan to do a show with the usual suspects, one for the road! It will be in November in the Michael J Quill Centre... stay tooned for details...

Live at the "Scene on the Green" Festival 2023

I was joined by my good friends Fintan on drums, Kris on Bass & Bruno on lead guitar so it was a magical jam! We only rehearsed once before the show because I was otherwise occupied running the festival but it was fantastic nonetheless! There's a couple of clips of the gig on the video. Thanks lads!

Clips from the "Scene on the Green" Festival

2023 began with a show in the Michael J Quill Centre in Kilgarvan. Such a beautiful venue, a converted church with a wonderful atmosphere and sound. As it turned out that night The Lazy Llamas couldn't make it so Ivan, Bruno & myself stretched out our set with the help of Freddie Geoghegan on drums and some improvisations.

We had a wonderful night! See the video..

Back by popular demand!

I'm delighted to announce our return to The Carnegie Theatre, Kenmare on Friday 7th October and when I say our I mean Ivan Peter Pawle, El Bruno and myself.

We had such a wonderful time in June and the response was so positive that we jumped at the opportunity to do it all over again, but a little different, keep it fresh..

The event starts at 8pm

Tickets €10

Tickets now on sale from the Carnegie Arts Centre Box Office

"The Iceland Trip" filmed live during the show

It gives me great pleasure to announce my first show in 5 years!

On Friday 17th June 2022 I will perform my "Projections 2022" show

Video clips from the show

I'm delighted to announce that on Wednesday 9th September 2020 at 8pm I will be performing an Acoustic show which will be streamed on Facebook Live
https://www.facebook.com/bloodmoonireland

This will be my first ever live stream and my first gig in more than 3 years.

More than anything else it will be an experiment on how it all comes out given that I live in a rural area with limited bandwidth but hopefully I have enough to live stream me singing and playing my acoustic guitar through my phone, raw and unplugged, as nature intended lol!

Anyway there's only one way to find out and that's to just do it!

May 2020 - Due to the Covid 19 situation my plans for future shows have been put on hold until such time as movement and live performances are permitted once again. Stay safe!
In the meantime here's the video collage from the gig in The Haven in August 2017!
Best night ever!!

And now for something completely different. On 11th October 2018 I performed live with an ensemble called "Soundscape Gardeners" in Dali's, Cork during the IndieCork Film Festival. It was the first time I'd performed with other musicians in years and my first time performing Avante Garde style also. I had the privilege to perform with Gunther Berkus, Danny McCarthy, Alison "Little" Forbes and Harry Moore.
It was a highly memorable night! Sadly Gunther passed away in 2020.
This was the first staging of my "Projections" show in August 2015 at the Pav Reel Film Festival in Cork. It's hard to believe that was 6 years ago now, oh where do the years go? Anyway both I and the show have evolve d somewhat since then and as far I'm concerned I'm only just getting warmed up!

From 2013 "Cork Rocks Acoustic Session" at The Everyman, Cork.
A very special night from my memory banks which was organised by Stephen Manning who sadly is no longer with us on this realm. It was a fantastic event with a wonderful line up of local talent.
