2023 so far...

As we draw closer to the Summer Solstice half the year is almost behind us already (oh where does the time go? ;) and it's been an interesting one so far, swinging in every direction possible but all is well regardless. The older I get the crazier the world seems to get but the less any of it really matters ultimately so you learn to just go with the flow and whatever will happen will happen in it's time.

I didn't like turning 56 in January, it was a long hard winter on the mountain and my plans for going on tour this year came up against a few obstacles which led me to deciding to hold off for another year and record a few songs instead which I did and my originally planned 5 or 6 days over a few weeks in the studio turned into a 3 month story but with wonderful results which will go live on Spotify on the Summer Solstice on 21st June.

Before the recording started I performed with "The Mad Hatters" in The Michael J Quill Centre, Kilgarvan wth my good friends El Bruno, Ivan Peter Pawle & Freddie Geoghegan on drums. It was a fantastic evening of songs and jamming and fun! It's a wonderful venue with a great sound and atmosphere.

So my new songs have been distributed and can be pre saved by clicking on the images below

My eternal gratitude to my friends Bruno Golgowski for his wonderful drumming on "Open Your Eyes" & "The Sun Still Shines"
Tony O'Flaherty for his genius engineering and mastering & David Creedon for his fantastic photography! Thank you!
Recorded at Sulán Studios, Ballyvourney.

So what next?
I am currently involved in organising the "Summer in Kenmare" festival which will run from 14th July, one month from today, to 8th August

and we will be holding a livestream fundraising concert in The Carnegie Theatre, Kenmare on Friday 30th June. More on that next week...

Please support my ongoing work by streaming or buying or sharing and all that good stuff...
Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my blog! 2020 has been a year like no other and with no end in sight to our current plight it is important to keep on keeping on with the the belief that one day soon we will once again find ourselves in a World where we can move about freely and meet and hold each other without fear, that is a day we will welcome with open arms. In the meantime we are blessed with technology which enables us to communicate with each other like never before. This too will pass and we will get through it!

2020 has been a turbulent year, to put it mildly, containing events that have changed my life forever. The year began with dreams and plans of touring but that was soon brought to a halt when I was informed that I needed a hip replacement so I adapted to survive, what's another year I told myself. Soon after that came the Covid-19 virus and with it a total Worldwide lockdown. Life as we knew it has changed forever and as we're still in the middle of it who knows how it's going to turn out? Once again I adapted to survive. It's what we do or we die. Humanity has shone it's brightest lights during this time and there is a wonderful opportunity to take advantage of this time to bring about much needed change in our society, only time will tell I guess. More recently though and by far the most difficult event for me to adapt to, and still is, was the passing of my Mother.
